My first car was a 1999 Citroën Saxo, the Radio 538-version. After a few years I wanted something bigger. By co-incedence I bumped into an 97 Alfa Romeo 146 1.6 IE boxer. When the salesman started the car, my first reaction was: "Sounds like a diesel" After a testrit, I knew it for sure..... No sh!t, I shiny red car with such great steering and sound. Then again, a lot of people warned me for Alfa Romeo and the boxer engine. "Takes ages to run smoothly, lot of rusty parts". Yeah wright.... I still bought the 146.  The car had driven about 80.000 km., first owner car and always had it's service by my own salespoint/cardealer. I had this car for about 2,5 years and she never left me alone. Her appetite for engine-oil was pretty much, but who cares..... it's an Alfa Romeo!!

When the  146 went to the garage for her annual service, I simply went for a walk through the showroom. Guess what? I bumped into  a 156 sports-edition. A 1999 black 1.6 16v TwinSpark with 120 hp. This car also had driven about 80.000 km. Service-history though was not completely known. A testrit made it clear... WOW! Even better feeling and steering with this car. Wider tyres, suspension lowered 23 hp more than the 146. I bought the 156. Sadly the previous owners didn't treated her correctly, because I had to do several "not done services" to this 156. After about 2 years I sold this car. Why? Pretty simple; my girlfriend (nowadays my wife) also had her own car, and due to the costs of 2 cars, we both sold our car and bought a brandnew Fiat Punto.

Now, there's nothing wrong to Fiat, but it ain't an Alfa Romeo! Shortly after we got married, we bought (as a second car.....) a 1995 GTV 2.0 16v Twinspark. Too bad, but after a month this car almost died. After paying a huge bill, we still had fun of this car But when normal service came up, we were out of money for this (second) car.  Probably a lot of previous owners didn't do anything of service to the GTV. So we had to sell the GTV.

Back to the Fiat. Well, actually it's the same story with the 146. While I was walking through the showroom, I saw a beautifull facelifted 2005 147 1.6 Twinspark 16v. Need I say more.....  She only had driven about 37.000 km. We've got this car since december 2008. She's almost fully optioned, because it's a Distinctive: Cruise-control, bi-zone climate control, armrest in the front electical windows in the front and back. Interior is Alfatex which is verry comfortbale, espacially with long rides. We hope to drive her for a long time.... at least untill next years annual service ;)
